Would you buy a used warthog from this man?

Seriously, would you buy a used warthog from this sunglassed stranger?

Seriously, this is Aaron Watkins’ Facebook page image.  I’m pretty sure the photo was taken at the Paara Ferry Crossing on the Nile River.

It’s the only river crossing within Murchison Falls National Park in northern Uganda.

This area falls within the West Nile District of Uganda.

Ironically, one of our leaders at Roy O. Martin Company,  Scott Poole, is recovering from a serious case of West Nile Fever*, a mosquito-borne disease that originated in the very area where Warthog Aaron is standing. Scott caught it in Louisiana.

We are so thankful to God for Scott Poole’s recovery from West Nile. We pray for continued blessings and healing for he and his wife Heather.

Another West Nile aside:  Scott Willis, director of the Calcasieu Parish Mosquito Control, is currently in northern Uganda on a Dry Creek Baptist Church mission trip.  Shane Wilber (Number 7 to me) is leading the trip.

I told Scott Willis to take plenty of business cards with him.  They would easily gain him entrance into the refugee camps and obstinate government offices that are part of being in Africa.

I also told Scott to take his mandolin.  He is an accomplished bluegrass mandolin picker. I cannot wait to hear stories about his mandolin among our African friends.

P.S.  This is the last week of our Kickstarter Campaign for As the Crow Flies.  Learn more here.
