Leaders Have Big Hearts
“Always put people above paper.”
-Dwight D. Eisenhower
The best leaders always have big hearts.
They are looking out for their people.
Their big-heartedness overflows into mutual love and respect.
A team will follow a big-hearted leader wherever she leads.
She’s built trustworthiness by being a servant-leader.
She trusts her people with a big heart, and they respond wholeheartedly to that trust.
How do you recognize a big-hearted leader?
I don’t have a simple definition, but I know it when I see it.
You can literally smell it in the room when in the presence of a big-hearted leader.
That big heart seems to overflow and affect everyone in its orbit.
The best way is to look at the big-hearted leader’s people. You can see it in their eyes, words, actions, and attitudes.
They have a big-hearted leader.
And big-heartedness is always contagious.
Bishop Jake Owensby calls it “Full-Hearted Leadership.”
Full-hearted.
Big-Hearted.
Servant-Leadership.
Sounds like good goals to have.
TAKEAWAY: The Servant-Leader always responds big-heartedly to those around her, especially team members.
