Curt Iles is a Louisiana author living in Alexandria. He is the author of thirteen books and has written over 3500 blog posts on his website, www.creekbank.net.

A native of the small Pineywoods village of Dry Creek, Curt writes about what he knows: the people, culture, and history of western Louisiana. Above all, he is a storyteller and is committed to keeping the stories of the Pineywoods alive. He daily seeks to stay curious, be amazed by life, and share remarkable stories.

Curt is a popular speaker, logging over fifty events per year. His blend of humor, storytelling, and passion delights audiences of all types.

He and his wife DeDe are parents of three sons and have eight grandchildren. They live in Alexandria, Louisiana to be near seven of the grandchildren. DeDe is a fourth-grade schoolteacher and Curt works part-time as a chaplain with Roy O Martin Timber.

He is a graduate of East Beauregard High School, Louisiana College (BS 1979), and McNeese State University (MEd. Principalship 1985 and +30 Supervision 1988).

During his multi-faceted career, he has worked as a teacher/coach, principal, camp manager, author, missionary, and workplace chaplain. All of these jobs have been predicated on one attribute: relationships. Curt Iles is a relationship builder and connects well with folks of all backgrounds and ages.

His life statement is “to be a man God can use, encourage others, and be respected by those who know me best, my family.”

Curt’s life verse is “Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Words of Jesus in Matthew 6:33.

He currently seeks to center his life on Six+Words: Integrity, Passion, Curiosity, Influence/Impact, Balance, Stewardship, and Legacy.
