Draft Cover of A Spent Bullet

On Getting Things Done….

“I’ve got to do this, and I can’t do it alone.”

It’s that necessary tension between taking the ball in your hands vs. realizing you cannot do anything alone.

I learn (and re-learn) it each time I write a book.  So many gifted hands, hearts, and minds are involved in writing, editing, producing, and marketing a book.

A Spent Bullet (coming out in late October) will have my name on it, but the fingerprints of literally hundreds will be all over it.

Bob Calvert, who serves with our International Mission Board, sent this personal quote:  “My father told me long ago that if I had the work of 10 men, my first task was to find 10 men, because I can’t do the work of 10 men.”

Thanks Bob for passing on your father’s wisdom.

I’m under a time deadline on finishing my book, and this quote from Leonard Berstein reminds us of the importance of deadlines:

To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan, and not quite enough time.  _Leonard Bernstein.

Keep planning.

Keep living.

Keep dreaming.
