Proverbs 8:1 “Does not wisdom* call out? Does not understanding* raise her voice?”
Proverbs is a book of wisdom. Several times in the book, especially in chapter 8, wisdom is personified as a woman calling out to passersby with wisdom, intelligence, and insight.
In chapter 9, another woman calls out (v.13) She is named the woman Folly. She’s loud, brash, and suggestive.
It’s pretty simple: who am I going to listen to today? The choice is mine.
Lord, help me to choose Lady Wisdom.
*Here’s my question: how do wisdom and understanding differ?
Today I’ll be delivering copies of Deep Roots to Hastings in Alexandria as well as calling on other local bookstores.
