Today is blog post #1461 on The Creekbank Blog.
I love quotes and collect them wherever I find them. All 159 of my journals contain quotes and sayings that have shaped my life.
I usually write them out by hand, then decorate with ink and colored pencil.
This is a good week to share some of them.
Enjoy!
The Lord of the Rings series has been a favorite of mine long before Frodo’s and Bilbo’s names became well-known.
This quote is when Gandalf the wizard, standing on a narrow passageway, stamps his staff at a gaggle of evil demons who are pursuing Frodo, and says,
“You SHALL NOT pass HERE.”
I like it because it’s about taking a stand and choosing your hill to die on.
Gandalf’s bold stand is from the chapter, “Choose Your Hill,” in my latest book, The Three Trees.

Several projects we’re working on this week:
Creating an audiobook of Stories from the Creekbank.
Working on large print editions of Where I Come From and The Three Trees.
Getting a revamped version of a reader favorite, The Wayfaring Stranger, back on Amazon.
And much more!
Stay tuned. There’s always more at The Creek. www.creekbank.net
