EAT AND READ AT MELBA’S

“There ain’t no place like New Orleans.”

I’ll be sharing more this week about the most fascinating restaurant in New Orleans, “Eat and Read at Melba’s.”

Nowhere else can you buy a book and get a free Turkey Neck (or Daiquirí)

Or buy 1000 chicken wings for $999.00.

More to come about Melba’s. I WILL have a book signing at Melba’s this year!

Stay tuned for more.

Every kid with an adult at Melba’s gets a free book token with the meal.

There’s a book vending machine in the corner.

Only in New Orleans.

Owners Scott and Jane Wolffe are committed to literacy in New Orleans, especially in the 7th Ward.

Pray for me as I seek ways to be involved in a school or library in 7th/9th/Lower 9th, or Gentilly Wards.

Since our work with Katrina evacuees in 2005, I’ve had a heart for New Orleans.

Since two of granddaughters, Emma, and Eliza Iles, now live there, DeDe and I plan on making many trips there.

I want to get involved in ministry through my books and literacy.

(Our son Terry and his wife Sarah (and the girls) live on campus at New Orleans Baptist Theology Seminary, which is in the Gentilly Ward.

Terry is currently Dry Creek’s only Hebrew Professor.

Stay in touch.
