Tues. April 13:Proverbs 13

April 13, 2010

I’m back from Honduras.  I had a wonderful time with my many friends there.  However, I’m happy to be back in the Piney Woods.

Proverbs 13:20 He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

“Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future.”    This is a modern proverb I’ve often heard quoted to young people.  It’s very similar to Proverbs 13:20.  Whom you “walk with” and “your companions” will shape your life, attitude, and future.

Yesterday my mom, Mary Iles, quoted one of her classic proverbs,  “You can’t have too many friends.”   And my momma is always right!*

However, she would agree that your companions… those you spend the most time with… will either lift you up (the wise) or pull you down (fools).

It’s a choice you make.  Make sure those you walk with are going in the right direction and on the right path.

The call is yours.
