Like any octogenarian, Aunt Margie’s hands have aged and she is embarrassed by them. They simply reveal 80 plus years of living.
I think they’re the most beautiful hands in the world. They’ve brought joy to thousands across a life of playing her piano.
Anyone in SW Louisiana knows my Aunt Margie Nell (Iles) Walker and her unforgettable piano style. She is now in Westwood Manor Nursing Home in DeRidder. She has lost her husband, home, and possessions.
Listen to her play, sing, and talk

Aunt Margie plays a patriotic medley in her heyday circa 2011
Ashokan Farewell and Tara’s Theme from 2011
A nice note (Margie Nell Walker c/oWestwoord Manor 714 High School Dr DeRidder, LA 70634) would mean the world to her.
A personal visit would be even better. You’ll get a free concert in the process. She may have lost a step out of the starting blocks, but you can call out nearly any song, and she’ll work it on the chords, then play it full tilt. An amazing woman with a God-given gift who has used it to bring such joy to so many people. Please take time to write or visit.
